Blue moon weekend for those wishing to meet their match

A WOMAN from Totnes claims to have had extraordinary success in enabling men and women to meet their match.

Srimati, who came to live in Totnes from London five years ago, would hesitate to describe herself as a matchmaker, more as someone who gets people ready for love, and with no small success.

When Srimati arrived in Devon with her young son, she was warned that if she was looking for a partner, Totnes was the wrong place to come to. 'My new friends in Devon told me that the town is stuffed full of single women, but hardly any single men, and that if I was expecting to find a partner I had come to the wrong place,' she said.

However, Srimati's experience proved quite the opposite. 'I found I was tripping over men when I came here,' she said. Now former Buddhist and psychology graduate, Srimati has developed her own life coaching practise, which includes coaching people on career, vocation and prosperity as well as relationships. 'I don't literally put people together,' said Srimati, 'but I have found a formula which give people the inner preparation to give them the best opportunity to find the right match for them. 'Some people can't bear to think of what they really want because deep inside they don't think they can have it.

I try to create "havingness". Part of my role is to see what options there are and to take practical steps towards making them happen. To be clear about what people want, then relaxing and allowing whatever to happen.'

Not only has Srimati succeeding in meeting and marrying the man of her dreams in Totnes, she has also succeeded in coaching several of her clients into meeting their match, including one client who met her partner in a crystal shop on Valentine's day on a full moon. Beat that.

Srimati says says there are definately men out there and that Totnes is not the sexual desert for women it has the reputation for being. 'I think men go about meeting people in their own way. They are far more likely to do internet dating, which has become a far more credible and reasonable way of meeting people. 'Women, on the other hand, are far more likely to join groups.

I just want people to know they are not stuck, and there are options out there. 'You can choose the life you want, and that includes creating the right partner for yourself. It involves being a bit more deliberate about the choices you make. People don't realise they do have a choice. There's a blue moon on June 30, and quite by coincidence, Srimati is holding a weekend course called Getting Ready for Love at Bowden House near Ashprington.
